Marathon Post

So, we have been busy since my last update. We have been to the park with friends, had Maddie over for the night, grandparents in town, etc. Here are pictures from our latest adventures. It has been a fun-filled month!
Grandmama was here for a few days at the beginning of the month. She really enjoys spending time with Silas so they were around a lot. It is fun to see them together.
Silas, Anna, Henry and Melissa at the park having a snack.

Tuesdays with Pibby are a fun time for Silas. Sometimes Pibby comes over to our house and sometimes I take Silas to their house. Either way Cooper (a.k.a. Poopa) is there. Silas and Poopa get along great! They are both at the same pace :-)

We took Silas to eat at the hibachi grill close to our house for the first time the other night. We thought he would enjoy the experience. He really liked the rice and I guess he enjoyed the show.

Maddie spent the day and night with us last week during her spring break. It was a fun day of playing around the house, going to a friend's house and running a few errands (I had to go do a few things while my good helper was here:-). Silas absolutely loved having Maddie here. He quickly started calling her Mammy and they played and read books and she taught him how to spell his name! Well, not exactly... but he repeated all of the letters after Maddie. I was impressed! She is so good with him. She taught him hide-and-go-seek too, which he now loves. After dinner it was time for bath, so Maddie was all up for helping. She went back with Jason to get Silas ready for bath time and the next thing I know Silas is doing his nakie run around the house and Maddie is running behind him cracking up harder than I have ever seen her laugh. It was really funny to watch both of them! Maddie is an only child, so she hasn't been around boys a lot (neither have I :-) Silas grabbed one of my shoes and covered himself. Don't ask me why, but that made it even funnier! He showed off for Maddie the entire time she was here. We all laughed a ton. It was very fun!

Sarah Beth called last week and said she and the boys were headed to LR. It was a fun surprise! Peyton and Felix went in with me to wake up Silas. Peyton got in the bed with Silas and I snapped a few shots. It was a fun afternoon!

Before Grandma (a.k.a. Bum Maw) and Grandpa (a.k.a. Bum Paw) rolled into town Silas helped me bake a cake. He thoroughly enjoyed watching the mixer stir up the ingredients, but he helped me stir in the chocolate chips and accidentally got some batter on his finger. Before I knew it the finger was going in his mouth and boy did he like what he tasted! I can only imagine what his thoughts were when he looked down at the bowl full of batter in front of him! He was disappointed to say the least when I took it away. Poor little guy...

Pops stopped by the other day in his jeep (a.k.a. jeek). Silas LOVES to sit in the jeek with Pops. They went outside for a long time and Silas honked the horn and crawled all over the place until Pops was worn out. Much to Silas's dismay they came in 30 minutes later :-)

Bum Paw and Bum Maw brought Silas a few presents when they came to visit. Silas really likes his new books! Bum Paw read the tractor book to Silas at least 20 times while he was here.

The big project for the weekend was assembling the the playscape. Jason's boss gave this thing to us b/c his kids are teenagers and there was no need for this at their new house. Jason, Pops, and Bum Paw worked very hard all day Saturday and then Bum Paw and Jason finished the clubhouse part on Sunday. Silas thinks it is the coolest thing (I do too!)! We have been swinging and sliding up a storm :-)
