Today I thought I would update some of the latest things that Silas has been up to. He is bringing us so much joy during this sad time. His sweet little ways are so comforting to us. He has started humming a sweet little tune and will start without any coaxing. He will look up with a very shy expression, but will keep on humming. It is the sweetest sound and I know it is coming straight from heaven.
Sarah put this on her blog, but I wanted to document it here for myself. The other day I was changing flower water and I stopped and began to study a picture of Mamie. I sat down and asked Silas to come look at something with me. He walked over and looked at the picture and said "baby". I said, "Silas do you know who this is?" and he said in a very matter of fact fashion "Mamie" and nodded his head. I should have known that he knew his sweet cousin. I take comfort in knowing that even though he will miss out on wonderful relationship with Mamie he will know that she will always be his angel companion. I truly believe that children have a direct connection with God. I pray that Silas continues to share these sweet gifts with us.
He has also been full of dancing moves. We haven't listened to any really fast music, but that doesn't seem to matter. He is very in to doing DEEP knee bends, slowly turning circles and nodding his head to the music (again, straight from heaven). Through all of this he has also made many new friends. He has loved all of the visitors and is attempting to say everyone's names. One of my favorites is Mr. Soggy (that is Bonnie's husband- Scotty).
We are taking the death of my sweet newborn niece one day at a time. Sarah, Taylor and our family are finding strength and a new sense of peace as you pray for us and show us God's love. I thank you for all of your prayers and continued support.
