A Family Affair

Last week was wild! Sarah and I typically work together at her house all day on Tuesday's, but we decided to work on Monday. While we were there working in the office we started hearing things falling around the house. She had left a message for a tree guy that she had decided that his bid was the best. Well, he came on out and started cutting and didn't even bother to let Sarah know he was there! By the middle of the next day Sarah and her neighbors had no electricity and no phone service and a fire had just been put out in her backyard. Craziness!! What happened was the guys dropped a tree on a live wire. The Entergy guys said it happens all the time... What a way to meet your neighbors! Sarah knows them all now :-). Taylor managed to be out of town for the whole thing! Anyway, since we live so close the craziness spilled over into our home.

We have started a Friday night tradition of meeting the guys at the pool after work. We take Silas' food and we order dinner too. It is a fun way to wind down and get some pool time in at the end of the week. We met Pops and Jason there Friday. Silas enjoyed the pool for a while. I am posting some pool pics here.

This past Saturday Mom, Silas and I went to Hope to see Aunt Martha, Uncle Ronnie, and my cousins. Silas did great in the car both ways and showed off his speedy crawling skills while we were there. Jason stayed home and hung out and went to a movie. I think he enjoyed having some "down time". Sunday was Father's Day! We had a wonderful day. Silas and I woke Jason up with this cards and a small gift. Silas chewed on the corner of the wrapped present while he was holding it of course :-). After church we spent the afternoon at home. Maddie came over to spend the night with Sarah, so we went down to the lake to swim after dinner. Silas was wiped out by bedtime!

Yesterday Silas received a package from Grandma! It was a present from Aunt Lori, but Grandma mailed it for her. Silas got a baseball cap from the Naval Academy! That is where his cousin Seth is in school. He just finished his first year and is heading to Guam to board a submarine and then travel to Japan. We are looking forward to hearing all about the trip in Door County!

Silas is babbling up a storm now. It is so sweet. He looks at you like he is really telling you something. I just wish we knew what he was saying :-)!! He likes to pull up and look out the windows or the front door. He waves at the cars. He is pulling up everywhere, so nothing is safe! He pulled all of his clean/folded clothes off of the table. I know, I know... It's just the beginning!

He still loves to eat! He makes all kinds of funny sounds when he gets excited. He still loves blueberries... and applesauce of course! Here are a few videos and pics from this past week. The first pic below is of Silas looking at himself in his mirror (one of his favorite things to do right now). He will kiss himself in the mirror and talk to himself too. It's really funny!
Enjoy!
